Lake Norman Yacht Cruise & Wine Tasting - Sunday March 28th, 1-4 pm

Don't miss out on a chance of being one of the first to get out and enjoy a spring day on Lake Norman! Lake Norman Wine Enthusiasts has teamed with two wineries to create a fun afternoon filled with food and wine.

Tickets are $55 per person; $49 if you register by the end of February.

Meeting Location: Off I-77 Exit 28, Catawba Avenue at 17044 Kenton Dr, Cornelius, NC 28031 (Parking for the Yacht cruise is located at Kenton Place in the parking lot behind the Galway Hooker where the Ragin' uptown buses are).

Includes a three hour cruise around Lake Norman, appetizers, and a wine tasting of a wide array of wines and styles from two North Carolina wineries, Daveste' Vineyards and Round Peak Vineyards. The winery owners will be there to pour the wine, talk about the wine industry in NC, and answer questions!

The yacht cruise also includes:

A souvenir wine glass from the winery
A glass of wine at the end of the tastings (whichever you liked best!)
A free Wine Tasting card for future use at Round Peak.
Bottles of wine will be available at an 8-15% discount to take home

Space is limited! Pre-registration and a deposit ($25) is required. Registrations can be made at

On the home page simply click on "events & news", and then on the events page simply click on the button "Sign up for an event" in the upper right corner. This will bring up a secure ordering form. Simply enter "yacht cruise" and the other required information. Round Peak will send a confirmation email and a receipt for the deposit.

Cancellations can be made without a charge until Feb 28th. After Feb 28th deposits are not refundable due to potential cancellation fees.

Join us this Saturday February 20th from 5pm until 9pm for a our first Real Ladies of Lake Norman Event.

This is an event for women and businesses that cater to women. It's an opportunity for some of the businesses in the area to let you know more about their product or service and offer discounts and gift certificates as you mingle with the Ladies of Lake Norman over wine, martini's, cocktails, and light h'ordeurvres served by our all male staff for the duration of the event. A few of the businesses participating are Lavendar Boutique, Sweet Grass, Miche Bags, Bamboo Spa, Extreme Tan, Avalilly's Boutique, Diamond Pleasures, Joel's Asian Grill, and more.

Sea-Rey experimental planes land on Lake Norman too. Several amphibious planes land on Lake Norman, including Tony's plane, Red Bull Plane, and others. Albatross is the type of plane that Red Bull uses. Anyhow, there are several air landing strips located on Lake Norman and even some communities with hangers and landing strips that you can live in! Ever want to learn how to scuba dive? Thinking about taking a caribbean vacation and want to go down under?

Lake Norman Scuba offers scuba lessons and it's relatively inexpensive.

They offer several "Open Water Sessions" and expert/advanced courses as well.

The Open water class is currently $499 and consists of 2-6 classroom sessions, 2-3 confined water sessions, and 4 open water dives. click here more information

If you are new to the area, or you are just curious about what the McGuire Nuclear station does at Lake Norman, then this is your chance to check it out!

Lake Norman is the States Largest Man-Made lake, built in 1963. Lake Norman's water provides the cooling to the Nuclear plant and also the Marshall Steam Station.

On April 30th, the EnergyExplorium at the Station is hosting a newcomer's drop-in from 6-8pm and it's free for children and adults. Also with the presentation, you will get to see a 30 minute movie about the construction of Lake Norman (since it's a man-made lake)
