With the new Carolina MLS system updating in the last few months, it has been frustrating for a lot of real estate agents out there, new and old to learn the new system and embrace it. It's much more user friendly in my opinion, but a lot more complicated in terms of what you can do with the system. There are a ton of fields and listing homes is not as easy as it used to be when you had a system down-packed.
So, with change comes new and great advances of technology that we didn't have before, including the new Foreclosure or REO search. REO means "real estate owned" (by lenders). More than ever before, we are entering a buyer's market where the buyers want to find amazing deals on homes sold by banks and lenders. Not a single buyer would rule those homes out, in my opinion, when looking for a future home purchase. In fact, with all of my newest clients, that is the first thing out of their mouths that they want to see.
We now have more homes in the pipeline of 90+ delinquencies than we had in the 1930's (fact courtesy of the office of Freddie Mac and the Chief Economist's presentation earlier this month). With that being said, wouldn't you want a search that focuses just on foreclosed homes for sale? Well here it is!
