4 Wines will be tasted and poured for only $10, and the wine representative will be on hand for descriptions and/or questions! There will also be a cheese and cracker platter for the group to munch on.

If you love the wines, you can get a discount when you buy it by the bottle too! 
Also, on Thursdays they have BEER specials too! It is $2 draft beer nite(all 23 drafts).

This is the latest addition to wine bars in the Lake Norman area! The Wine Dive is the first business together for Thor Chitow and his wife, Kat. Thor Chitow is a South Florida native who has worked in bars and restaurants for about 20 years.

The Wine Dive offers over 40 wines by the glass and they offer over 200 bottles of wine! There are also 23 Beers on tap! Their menu is amazing and their will be plenty of free appetizers to share and name tags.

And......surprise - All house wines will be priced at $3 a glass for our group on this night also!

Some appetizers at The Wine Dive include: hummus, smoked fish dip, port wine cheese spread, spinach dip, and much more!

They also have a solid wood custom built pool table($1 a game)

They have a lounge nook for small groups and a patio that overlooks a marina with outstanding sunsets!!

This is one of the coolest events EVER!!! Havana Banquet & Ballroom would love to host our Lake Norman Wine Club like they did last year. They want to provide some wine, chocolote, fun, and entertainment --including dancing! LOCATION: Inside the Palace Theatre in Cornelius.

Pay $10 at the door. They would like to offer a free group dance that night, a gift certificate for dance to everyone, AND they will include a chocolate fountain with dippings and the wine tasting. Then you can buy wine for $5.00/glass after the tasting.

BUT, Don't feel like you have to participate in the free group lesson! Just come and watch and be entertained! This is a whole bunch of fun.

The Lake Norman Huntersville Rotary Club will offer an exciting evening of special wines, food, fun and auction bargains at its 12th Annual Wine Spectacular on Saturday October 16th, 2010, 7pm.

The unique event will occur at Northstone Country Club located in Huntersville and is open to anyone with a desire to enjoy a great evening supporting local charitable causes. This year's event will feature delicious food, live entertainment and dancing, as well as the opportunity to taste and purchase many fine wines which have been hand selected by Mr. George Erdle, noted wine editor and wine connoisseur!

The main event of the evening will be a live AUCTION featuring items that range from golf packages from area courses, vacation homes and trips, salon and spa services, autographed sports memorabilia, certificates from various restaurants and businesses in the Lake Norman (LKN) area, various hotel stay amenities, and much more!. A Champagne Diamond Reverse Raffle will feature a diamond ladies tennis bracelet and a gentleman's Tag watch which is always a favorite at this annual event!

The Rotary Club of Lake Norman- Huntersville has contributed contributed in excess of $150,000 to local charities from the annual Wine Spectacular including The Lake Norman Free Clinic, Hope House, and the USO. This year's beneficiaries include:

• The Lake Norman Free Clinic which offers health care services to the uninsured and the under-insured residents of Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson and Mooresville - LKNFreeClinic.org for more information.

• The Hope House in Huntersville, North which offers transitional housing and support for single mothers and their children - www.HopeHouseFoundation.com.

• The USO of North Carolina at Charlotte which enhances the quality of life for our U.S. Armed Forces personnel and their families - www.uso-ncwww.uso-nc.org.

• Rotary - End Polio Now. After 20 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease, but a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all. It is a window of opportunity of historic proportions.

T1 Tapas in Birkdale Village will offer a Wine Tasting in August! T1 Tapas is a modern restaurant on the back corner in the circle at Birkdale Shops that connects people with food and technology. Ever heard of a restaurant that let's you order on a screen at the table, or plug in your ipod/mp3 player at the table? This is IT!!!

The wine tasting will consist of FOUR wines as well as a Flatbread Medley: Crispy flatbread with assorted toppings such as Tomato Basil; Caramelized Onions and Goat Cheese; Wild Mushroom, Goat Cheese and Truffle Oil. They will bake their housemade fresh pretzels and decadent bite size chocolat brownies. The cost will be $12.00 per person. You will pay the restaurant bartender upon arriving. I am looking forward to having you at T1 Tapas.

Please try to keep cancellations of our meetups under 24 hours to a "last minute emergencies" only. The organizers of this group work really hard to provide great wine venues for us to meet at, and get good deals on wine and food and we want to keep the venues happy! When you RSVP and you take up a spot and then continually change your RSVP at the last day or last 24 hours --and YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, then you are doing the group a huge disservice with the wine venues and our reputation. I get an email every time someone changes their RSVP. There are DEFINITE repeat offenders of this. It really must stop. These restaurants order enough food and wine for so many RSVPs and having 15 or more drop-outs in less than 24 hours before an event is irresponsible. It does not give other members who would really like to attend but didn't make the list originally, a chance to change plans, last minute. It's sad that I have to send this out, but please be courteous.
