It's an old place but becoming quite popular!

The town of Mooresville was established in 1873. The Mooresville Public Library, run by John A. Pritchard is located on S. Main Street and was originated in 1890. In 1890, some citizens of Mooresville decided that they would put together their personal collections of books to create the original "Mooresville Lending Library".

In 1899, the library was adopted by the town and had it's own staff. They changed the name to the "Mooresville Free Library". Then, in the following years, the library had little interest for the citizens.

In 1940, Mrs. Lutell Sherrill Williams of Mooresville built the new library on the homesite of her family heritage. 600 people came to the opening.

By 2005, the library was busting through it's original walls and earlier remodels and badly needed more space. The new remodel (existing building) added 30,000 more square feet!

Visiting the library is a great experience. The staff is kind and helpful. The children's floor downstairs is amazing, colorful, and 5 year olds even have their own computers and story rooms. The reference sections are great and include tax forms and every dictionary or encyclopedia I can think of!

The library includes sections for DVDs, magazines, newspapers, spanish section, children's books, audiobooks, and more! Free wi-fi, pay faxing, pay copies, public computers, and tons of programs to offer. The staff tells me that weekends are very busy.

Located in Mooresville, NC - right off exit 33 on I-77. It's a waterfront place and the outdoor patio gets pretty full in the summer time. All the boats pull up and order lunch and dinner during the summer too!

If you are looking to be seen, people watch, order some good 'ol fried food, or just grab a beer and watch NASCAR, then this is the place to GO in Lake Norman on Wednesday or Friday nights.

My friend Robbie just left work on his lunch break in Concord to go skiing for the afternoon. How cool is that?

He is driving to Appalachian Mountain to ski fo $32 (lift and rental). That's the weekly price!!! wow! 

It will take him LESS than 2.5 hours and that includes filling up the tank before he leaves.  Hwy 321 straight up to Sugar Mountain is the closest. It takes a short ride from the lot to the slopes and you're ready to SKI!

The weather is gorgeous and sunny and I'm very very jealous that I cannot go today! 

• You can ski from 6-10 at most places, some have 4:30-10pm on the weekdays
• Weekends are a little more packed but plenty of slopes to try out
• Watch out for snow boarders! It's so popular these days and they can't stop very well

Northlake Grape --Wine Tasting with Entertainment!

I've been asked by so many members to bring this popular meetup back! This is a social wine drinking event with live entertainment!

Let's meet up at the GRAPE in Northlake Mall on February 6th at 7pm!! It's a wine store and bar that is located around the backside of the mall by the movie theatre. Arranging it at 7pm should give everybody some time to get through traffic or get home to change before the meetup I hope!

The Wine Tasting will include four wines for $10 and "half-price" appetizers (1st page of menu only) for the group.

The entertainment for the night is "Jonesin Jazz Quintet"!

The Grape has a great retail selection of wines by the bottle or glass and a large menu of appetizers and cheeses. They have a new fall menu too!

Gary (from the Grape), is offering HALF OFF appetizers on first page in menu for any one attending the event and discounts for retail and case purchases!

Please come in, find the group, order a pre-tasting glass of wine, and find a seat! Each member is responsible for their own tab.
