Stop Drinking Bottled Water!

Do you know how much waste in landfills is due to plastic water bottles?

8 out of 10 bottles make it to the landfills.

Estimates for 2006 say at least 38 billion water bottles were landfill waste that year alone!

That's a scary number. How much real estate are we going to ruin with plastic-filled landfills?

I refill my plastic bottle with water from the faucet and a filter. It's easy to install one in your home. Filters range in price from the faucet kind for $15 to $430 for a central home system.

Just think: If you buy or consume at least 7 bottles a week at $1 per bottle, that's $28/month = $336 per year that would more than pay for a water filtration system. If you bought a faucet filter, then you would save $$$!

Here is a buying guide to water filters

Ah, plastic our nemesis.  I've recently read some interesting facts about plastics and how it is polluting our environment in a local paper - I was quite shocked at how much we are damaging our planet without much regard.  Thanks for the encouragement.

Great point Sandy. Such a small thing can make such a big difference.

Yes, plastic is so damaging to our environment, but we need it for lots of things. I think we just need to focus on recycling and refilling.
